Brief History of MACCIT:

The MACCIT organization is a membership organization which promotes Milton to residents, businesses and visitors.  Membership is open to Milton area businesses and community boosters.  MACCIT was a merger in 2007 between the Milton Industrial & Economic Development committee (MIEDC), the Tourism Development Committee (TDC) and the Milton Area Chamber of Commerce (MACC).  TDC was intended to promote and develop tourism within the city limits.  MIEDC provided marketing for the city of Milton and worked on projects related to non-downtown commercial and industrial development particularly in regard to the East Side Industrial Park.  MACC was a membership organization for local businesses. There was a concerted effort on behalf of these entities to work collaboratively and the consolidation concept emerged.
